Tool Tuesdays: Embedded Analytics

In addition to real time defect detection, Elementary comes equipped with powerful analytics capabilities embedded within the user interface.

SHARE

Users can view the images and results of past inspections to identify trends and discover issues that may not have been flagged previously. Their quality data can be viewed over the last day, week, or from the very first inspection performed. This data can also be filtered by the specific defects detected, specific stations of interest, product line, or even by the inspector on duty. This granularity allows manufacturers to identify root causes and implement corrective actions much sooner than through manual reports.

Changes in quality data over time may not always be obvious. Having the ability to filter out noise, and reframe the data to a more useful timescale helps manufacturers more quickly discover when something is wrong. The timing of spikes in fail rates can be pinpointed, and the specific images of failures can be viewed alongside the data visualizations - removing any doubt that the data reflects what was actually observed on the floor.

Elementary’s embedded analytics capabilities enables manufacturers to easily review their quality performance over time, and quickly discover the actions necessary to maximize their product yield.

The Hidden Cost of Delayed Quality Data: Why Weeks-Old Reports Are Costing Manufacturers Millions
The Hidden Cost of Delayed Quality Data: Why Weeks-Old Reports Are Costing Manufacturers Millions
Manufacturing's dirty secret: most quality managers operate in the dark. While production lines run 24/7, quality data often arrives weeks after problems occur. By then, defective products have shipped, materials have been wasted, and the same issues have replicated across multiple shifts.

Why Are Product Recalls So Costly and What Can You Do to Avoid Them?
Why Are Product Recalls So Costly and What Can You Do to Avoid Them?
Product recalls are expensive. When manufacturers discover that their products contain defects or are not compliant with safety standards, they are responsible for notifying the consumers and removing all affected items from the shelves, warehouses, storerooms, and customers’ homes.
